It’s Springtime!

 

It’s springtime!    

This is the time of year when we welcome warmer weather, spring cleaning, spring training, spring break, and greener grass!

At Girls on the Run, springtime also brings our second season of the school year and new goals to meet!  During this new season, the girls in our programs will make new friends, build their confidence to new heights and celebrate all that makes them unique all while training physically and emotionally to complete a 5K.

While we emphasize that we are not a running club, we are proud of the positive impact that our programs have on the physical activity levels of our participants. In fact, based on a national-level, longitudinal study of program effectiveness conducted by Dr. Maureen Weiss, findings show that girls who were more sedentary at the beginning of the program increased their physical activity by 40%!  (for complete findings of this study, click here)

So, as we embrace spring this year, we hope that you will also be inspired to set new goals, improve your skills and reach new heights!
